What is Video VAST and Video Slider ad formats?
Video advertising is one of the most attractive and clickable ad formats. Video ads are perfect for movie websites, streaming services, and other sites with entertaining content. This ad format is CPM-based.

What Video ad formats are available in HilltopAds?
Video VAST or Pre-roll ads
HilltopAds webmasters can work with two types of video advertising: video VAST and video Slider. Let's take a closer look at each format and how to add them to your website.
Video VAST or Pre-roll is a link with an advertising feed that needs to be placed in a player of your website. The ads will be shown before the main video, similar to the familiar format we see while watching videos on YouTube.
Video Slider ads
Video Slider format is a JS code which is not tied to a specific player and can be placed on any website. When visitors access the website, the video ad will appear at the bottom right corner.
How to create a Video ad zone?
Video VAST
Please follow the steps bellow:
- Go to the Manage Site & Zones section;
- Click on the Add Zone button, which is available only for verified sites;

3. Specify the Name of a zone;
4. Select the Video VAST ad format from the ad formats list;
5. Copy a code and paste it to a video player on your website.
Video Slider
Please follow the steps bellow:
- Go to the Manage Site & Zones section;
- Click on the Add Zone button, which is available only for verified sites;

4. Select the Video Slider ad format from the ad formats list;
5. Copy a code and add it to the code of the desired webpage before the </body> tag.
What are the default settings?
The default settings are:
- For a VAST and video Slider, by default, the Skip button appears 15 seconds after the ad starts showing.
If you want to use change the default settings, please contact your personal manager via Telegram, Skype, email or online chat on the website.
When ads will be shown on a website?
If you have done everything correctly - verify a website, add a VAST ad code to a video player or add a video Slider code before the </body> tag - ads will be shown immediately. If ads don't work, please check out the guide.
