Why do you need another tracking platform?

Today we have a diversity of tracking platforms available in the market. Each platform offers unique features. Therefore it’s easy to choose the one that won’t exactly suite to the goals of your campaign.

And in this article we will take a closer look at one of the best known trackers - Bemob tracking software.

Get ready to work

Before you dive into the tracking platform we would recommend to copy Postback URL from your personal account on our platform. Here  is where you can find your specific Postback URL.

Sign up to BeMob

For starters create a personal account on this platform (link for registration is waiting for you here)

Already done? Then follow next steps to connect tracker and HilltopAds platforms.

Note: most of the options are free for BeMob users. But for those who want to work with PostBackUrls the subscription ($499/month) is needed.

Manage Traffic sources

After you have successfully logged in to your personal account and copied Postback URL, you can start doing the real work.

  • Go to the «Home» page and choose the «Traffic sources» tab.
  • Click on small arrow near the «New» button and select «New From Template»
  • A new window will open with the list of popular ad networks. Proceed with «HilltopAds»
  • Then click on «Next»

You can see the form with a pre-filled information.

  • Write Name, paste Postback URL (the one you copied before from our website) and click the «Save» button

Note: optionally you can manage other fields too.

How to create a traffic source

We remind you that HilltopAds works with these additional parameters:

  • {{geo}} - ISO country code;
  • {{adid}} - Ad/banner identifier;
  • {{zoneid}} - Traffic source identifier;
  • {{campaignid}} - Campaign identifier;
  • {{lang}} - Visitor language HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE e.g. en-en;
  • {{category}} - Category Adult/Mainstream;
  • {{cpmbid}} - CPM rate for campaign;
  • {{price}} - For CPM campaigns this placeholder provides the price of 1 ad impression. For CPC campaigns it provides the price of 1 click on the ad;
  • {{browsername}} - browser name.

Each postback link must contain the required parameters:

  • {{token}} - Unique id of the conversion;
  • {{price}} - Conversion cost;
  • {{currency}} - Conversion currency;
  • advertiserID - Advertiser ID.

Create BeMob campaign

Now it’s time to create your first campaign on BeMob. It can be easily done by doing the following:

  • Navigate to the «Campaigns» tab
  • Click on the «New» button
  • Set up Name for the campaign, choose the Traffic source (the one for HilltopAds) , Flow destination and other fields optionally Important: Check the «Send Postback, %» box

Great, now platform gives you the list of relevant to your campaign URLs.

Important: Copy the «Campaign URL» and  let’s your open HilltopAds personal account.

And now you are done with all the preparation work on the BeMob platform. Please open your User panel on HilltopAds for the final steps!

Note: we skipped the process of integrating an affiliate network to the tracker, creating an offer and a stream. But don’t worry we will take a closer look at these steps in our future articles

Connect tracker to HilltopAds campaign

The last but not least is to connect created campaign to the one on HilltopAds. Of course, you need to create the campaign first. To do so keep following our guidelines:

  • In HilltopAds, navigate to the “Manage Campaign” view
  • Click the “Add campaign” button
  • Set up the ad format, the traffic channel, the name for your campaign and any additional options according to your preferences
  • Finally paste the Campaign URL you copied from BeMob into the Final Destination URL text field
  • Click the “Add” campaign button.
